NBA- (10:30 ET, TNT) Golden State at Utah

2007-05-15

Utah did what Dallas could never do; play with composure when things got rough at Orarcle Arena in Oakland. Coach Jerry Sloan, unlike his Mavericks counterpart Avery Johnson, can read a stat sheet and saw that Carlos Boozer only had 10 shots in the Game 3 massacre. The Jazz went to Boozer early and often on Sunday in the crucial game and he put up 19 shots, 11 free throws, and eventually 34 points. With Game 5 on tap for Tuesday night, Utah looks to close out the series and move on to the West Finals.

No player on Golden State roster can handle the former Duke star. With Utah able to control the glass, the Warriors must make shots and create turnovers to win. The Jazz are 19-6 ATS after three straight games out-rebounding opponent by 10 or more.

Golden State has proven a couple things in the NBA betting postseason. When shots are falling and the emotion can flow fluidly, they are as difficult a team as there is to beat anywhere. When things unravel and it is visible they will end up on the short end of the scoreboard, no level of unwarranted thugery is beyond them. Baron Davis cheap shot on former teammate Derek Fisher and Al Harrington clubbing of Carlos Boozer's head were just a couple of examples. It is more obvious then ever despite unique talents and skill; these Warriors lack the mental make-up to win four games against a team that has the ability to showcase their weaknesses, leading them to fail on their own.

For all there success, Golden State is still just is 6-14 ATS as a road underdog of six points or less; however 5-0 against the spread off a double digit loss. Utah is a 4.5-point favorite, with a total 216.5 at Sportsbook.com and if they take a substantial lead in the last couple of minutes, it might be wise to have WWE guys on the bench just in case.

Tip off will be after 10:30 in the East or 8:30 Salt Lake City time on TNT. The side and the total have moved from original numbers, thus reviewing the NBA Live Odds page could be prudent.
